What Sensory Play Looks Like in Everyday Life
The Story Behind Flowfull®
"Our kids loved sensory play in occupational therapy. We wanted to bring that experience home."
As parents, Julia and Gil saw firsthand how sensory play nurtures creativity, focus, and calm. 12 months of development and 12 prototypes later, Flowfull® was born – therapeutic-grade sensory play for everyday family life.

Discover Your Set →Flowfull® – Premium Sensory Play System for Creative, Hands-On Learning
Flowfull® is a thoughtfully designed sensory play system that gives children aged 3 and up the freedom to explore through touch, movement and creativity – inspired by occupational therapy methods and the Montessori approach. Thousands of small wooden cubes invite kids to scoop, pour, sort and build. The result: immersive sensory play experiences that naturally develop creativity, fine motor skills and focus.
Unlike traditional Montessori toys, Flowfull® is built as a modular system: the Playpit provides children with a dedicated space for free sensory play on the floor, while the compact Cube Box brings sensory experiences to the table. The Creative Wood Cubes – made from certified natural wood – form the foundation for endless play ideas, from simple pouring to complex constructions and imaginative worlds.
What Is Sensory Play and Why Does It Matter?
Sensory play refers to any activity that engages a child's senses: touch, grip, hearing and sight. In education and occupational therapy, sensory play is widely recognised as one of the most effective ways to support a child's holistic development. Tactile input helps regulate emotions, proprioceptive stimulation boosts concentration, and sensory experiences spark creativity.
This approach is deeply rooted in the Montessori method, which has emphasised the importance of sensory experiences for child development for over 100 years. Modern research confirms it too: children who regularly engage with sensory toys show measurable improvements in fine motor skills, language development and self-regulation.
Flowfull® as a Sensory Toy for Everyday Family Life
Unlike many sensory play materials such as playdough, water or sand, Flowfull® is specifically designed for use at home. The wooden cubes leave no residue, never dry out and can be tidied up in seconds. This makes Flowfull® the ideal sensory toy for daily use – no mess, no stress.
The system consists of three perfectly matched components: the Signature Sensory Set with Playpit (from €299) accommodates 1–3 children and is the most popular choice for families. The Starter Set with Cube Box (from €99) is a compact entry point for table play. And the Creative Wood Cubes on their own (from €59) enable instant sensory play on any tray or in any bowl.
Recommended by Therapists and Educators
Over 100 occupational therapists, early childhood educators and nursery managers already use Flowfull® in their daily practice. In nurseries, sensory play with the Playpit promotes calm, concentration and social interaction. In occupational therapy, Flowfull® serves as a versatile tool for developing motor skills, perception and self-regulation.
At home, more than 1,000 families report positive experiences: children play independently for 45–60 minutes, develop creative play ideas and find a calm-down spot in the often hectic family routine. The combination of Montessori principles and occupational therapy methods makes Flowfull® a sensory toy that doesn't just keep children busy – it meaningfully supports their development.
Sensory Play for Different Age Groups
From age 3, children begin to use the Flowfull® Playpit with purpose – they scoop, sort, feel and immerse themselves in play. At this stage, simple sensory experiences and exploring different materials take centre stage. Sensory play at this age particularly supports fine motor skills and tactile awareness.
As children grow – from around age 6–7 – the nature of their sensory play evolves: they develop more complex play ideas, build landscapes and patterns, use tools like scoops and cups, and weave the Playpit into their imaginative play. By preschool age, the sensory toy is frequently used as a calm-down spot and quiet retreat.
This means Flowfull® isn't just used briefly – it accompanies many children over several years, often right through to primary school age. This longevity clearly sets Flowfull® apart from conventional Montessori toys, which are often designed for just one developmental phase.
Quality and Safety
All Flowfull® Creative Wood Cubes are made from certified, natural wood. They are free from harmful substances, splinter-proof and at 1×1 cm large enough to pose no choking hazard. The Playpit features a removable, washable fabric cover. Designed in Germany, with a 2-year warranty and 100-day return policy.
Flowfull® combines the benefits of sensory play, Montessori toys and occupational therapy methods in one family-friendly system – for families, nurseries and therapy practices that value meaningful, creative and developmental play.
