Frequently Asked Questions About the Flowfull® Signature Set
Do you have questions about our Signature Set with the Sensory Playpit? Here you'll find the most important answers about what's included, materials, safety, setup and how kids play with it. If your question isn't here, feel free to write to us directly.
What's included in the Flowfull® Signature Set?
The set includes the Sensory Playpit and the matching Creative Cubes made of larch wood to fill it. Everything you need to get started comes in one package. You can order more sensory modules and add-ons separately in our shop, so the system grows with your child.
Is the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit worth the investment?
Yes, for several reasons: the system is modular and grows with your child, from age 3 into the elementary school years. Unlike many toys that end up in a corner after a few weeks, kids regularly play in the playpit on their own for 30 to 60 minutes. More than 1,000 families already use the system, and more than 100 educators and therapists recommend it. Plus, our 100-day trial and 2-year warranty help you decide with confidence.
What makes the Flowfull® system different from regular toys?
Our sensory play system was designed based on insights from occupational therapists, not simply as an entertainment product. Your child pours, sorts, builds and creates, using their hands and all their senses in calm, focused play. It's also completely screen-free and needs no instructions: your child figures out intuitively how they want to play. The result is deep, self-directed play instead of short-lived distraction.
Why is the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit suitable for ages 3+?
From age 3, kids have the motor and thinking skills to grab, sort and stack the wooden cubes and play with them creatively. We chose the cube size so it's easy for small hands to handle. That way, kids can dive into sensory play on their own.
Why larch wood? What makes the material special?
Larch is a particularly hard and durable wood. By nature, it's sturdy, splinter-resistant and especially long-lasting, which makes it perfect for lots of active play. At the same time, it feels pleasantly warm to the touch, which makes playing an even richer sensory experience. We deliberately don't use chemical coatings, so your child plays with pure wood.
Why don't we fill the playpit to the brim?
There's a reason for that, and it's all about play: when the playpit isn't completely full, your child has enough room to move the cubes around, pour, dig and build. A playpit filled to the brim would limit their freedom of movement and hold back creative play. The fill level we chose gives just the right balance between sensory input and room to create.
How do kids play with the Flowfull® wooden Creative Cubes?
The cubes engage several senses at once: touch, proprioception (body awareness) and sight. Your child grabs, sorts, stacks and pours them, using their hands and eyes together in calm, focused play. The idea behind this comes straight from the work of occupational therapists.
Is the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit safe and made from high-quality materials?
Safety comes first for us. The cubes are made of larch wood that's carefully finished, so there are no splinters or sharp edges. All materials have been tested for kids ages 3+. The entire system is designed in Germany and produced to strict quality standards.
Will the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit fit in our home, and how much space does it need?
The playpit is designed to fit into normal living spaces, whether that's a kids' room, the living room or a play corner. It has a compact footprint and fits nicely into a corner or against a wall. Because it's filled with wooden cubes, there's no mess like with sand or water beads. Tidying up is quick: cubes back in, done.
Is the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit easy to set up and clean?
Setup is simple and takes just a few minutes, with no special tools. Cleaning is just as easy: wipe the wooden cubes with a damp cloth when needed, and keep the playpit itself clean with a cloth. There's no sand and no dust spreading through your home.
Is the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit also suitable for kids with special needs or sensory processing disorders?
Flowfull® is a toy for open-ended play, not a medical product. The system was designed based on principles occupational therapists work with, and many occupational therapists and preschools already use it in their work with children. If your child has special needs, the specialists who work with them can best tell you whether Flowfull® is a good fit.
What if my child doesn't like the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit?
Then you simply use our 100-day trial. Try the set at home at your own pace, and if it isn't right for your family, you can send it back. It matters to us that you and your child are truly happy with it.
Is the Flowfull® Sensory Playpit also used in preschools and other institutions?
Yes, many preschools, early childhood educators and occupational therapists already use the system in their daily work. It works great for group activities, one-on-one sessions and free play in professional settings. If you're ordering for an institution and planning a larger order, feel free to contact us for personalized advice.
Who's behind Flowfull®, and how did the idea come about?
Flowfull® was founded by Julia and Gil Lang, parents themselves, who were looking for meaningful, screen-free toys with real value. From their own experience, and working closely with occupational therapists, they created a play system for everyday family life. Today, more than 1,000 families and more than 100 professionals trust Flowfull®.
