Frequently Asked Questions About the Flowfull® Sensory Play System

Do you have questions about our Flowfull® Sensory Playpit? Here you'll find the most important answers about materials, safety, shipping, cleaning and the thinking behind our play system. If your question isn't here, feel free to write to us directly.

What age is the Flowfull Sensory Playpit suitable for?

Our play system is made for kids ages 3+, and thanks to its modular design, it grows with your child into the elementary school years. The ways to play change as your child gets older, so there's always something new to discover. That way, Flowfull® stays with your child for many years.

What materials are in the set, and are they safe?

The set comes with cubes made of solid larch wood, sanded smooth so they don't splinter. All materials meet the requirements of the EU Toy Safety Directive (CE marking). For comparison: a 2025 study by the German consumer organization Stiftung Warentest found that 30 of the 54 cheap toys it tested had mechanical safety defects. At Flowfull®, you can be sure that quality and safety come first.

How do I clean the playpit and the cubes?

You can simply wipe the wooden cubes with a damp cloth. If they're very dirty, you can rinse them briefly under running water and then let them air-dry. Please don't use harsh cleaning products, so the wood surface stays intact.

How long will my child play with it, and what do they get out of it?

Parents regularly tell us that their kids play with the Flowfull® system on their own for 30 to 60 minutes, without any instructions. During that time, they grab, pour, sort and build, using their hands, eyes and sense of touch in calm, focused play. And the best part: it's completely screen-free.

How is Flowfull different from cheap sensory toys?

Flowfull® was created by parents (Julia & Gil Lang) together with occupational therapists, so there's more behind it than a marketing promise. More than 100 educators and therapists recommend our system. Cheap sensory toys often carry impressive-sounding labels, even though these terms aren't protected and there doesn't have to be any real concept behind them. At Flowfull®, every detail is intentional: solid larch wood, a modular design and a carefully planned play concept for everyday family life.

How long do shipping and delivery take?

We ship from Germany, and delivery times depend on your country. Once your order is on its way, you'll receive tracking details by email so you always know where your package is.

What payment methods do you offer, and can I pay in installments with Klarna?

We offer several payment methods, including Klarna where available. Depending on your country, Klarna lets you pay later or in installments. You'll see all payment options available to you at checkout.

What if my child doesn't like the play system?

You get a 100-day trial. That means you and your child can try the Flowfull® system at your own pace. We also give you a 2-year warranty on all materials. We want you to feel confident about your decision.

Is Flowfull® also a good fit for preschools and other institutions?

Absolutely. Many preschools, early childhood educators and occupational therapists already use Flowfull®. The system works great for everyday group settings because it's quick to tidy up and doesn't leave a mess. If you'd like to order larger quantities, just write to us directly. Institutions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can also ask us about buying on invoice.

Why is screen-free play so important?

According to a 2025 OECD study, 83% of five-year-olds use digital devices at least once a week, and 42% even use them every day. At the same time, 15-year-olds in Germany spend an average of 48 hours a week in front of screens. Flowfull® is a deliberate counterpoint: your child plays with focus, using their hands and all their senses, without any electronic stimulation. That means active, hands-on play instead of passive screen time.

What do occupational therapists have to do with Flowfull®?

Flowfull® was created together with occupational therapists. Kids are often more relaxed in the familiar surroundings of home, so we designed Flowfull® for everyday family life. To be clear: Flowfull® is a toy for open-ended play, not a medical product, and it doesn't replace professional support.

Is Flowfull® Montessori-friendly?

Flowfull® follows a basic principle that's also central to this approach: children work at their own pace and focus on individual sensory impressions, such as shape, weight or texture. Good to know: the name itself isn't legally protected. Any manufacturer can use it, even without a real concept behind it. Our play system is based on concrete expertise from occupational therapists, not on a label.

How many families already use Flowfull®?

More than 1,000 families already play with Flowfull®, and more than 100 educators and therapists recommend our system. The feedback in our verified customer reviews shows us every day that we're on the right track.

Where was Flowfull® designed?

Flowfull® is designed in Germany. Founders Julia and Gil Lang came up with the system themselves as parents, because they were looking for a meaningful, well-thought-out sensory toy for their own kids. Every detail, from the material to the play concept, was worked out together with occupational therapists.
